POM pom CARE Pom poms don’t do well in wet or hot places. Protecting your pom poms in a plastic bag inside your totebag is a good idea.  You can even place a dryer sheet inside the bag to keep your pom poms from smelling sweaty. Never leave your pom poms inside your car, especially NOT in direct sunlight.  This will permanently damage your pom poms. FLUFFING pom POMS WITH THE PULL-APART METHOD ---A New and Improved Way of Fluffing Your Pom Poms The Pull-Apart Method prolongs the life of your cheerleading pom poms, as well as produces prettier pom poms.  The metallic strands will catch the light better enhancing their performance appeal.  The vinyl strands will be fuller and more colorful. Time: 30 minutes per metallic pom pom   20 minutes per vinyl/flash pom pom

• Sit in a chair with your feet on the floor.
• Place pom pom in front of you with the baton handle parallel to your legs.
• Find the staple and skip the first 10 strands because they will pull off.
• Starting with about the 11th  strand, pull one pom pom strand to the Right and the next pom pom strand to the Left.  Firmly pull down as far as you can. 
• Continue pulling the pom pom strands, alternating left and right until you finish all the pom pom strands on one side. 
  NOTE: You can pull the strands in the opposite directions at the same time to go faster.
• Turn pom pom over and repeat.
• Periodically shake the pom pom hard to loosen strands and comb pom pom strands with fingers to help create the desired ball-shape.
• If pom poms get wet from rain, completely shake them of excess water and then lay them out on a towel to dry overnight.
• Store your team's pom poms in a ventilated bag as opposed to an air-tight plastic container. An oversized mesh bag commonly used for sport's equipment works well. The air flow prevents them from having an odor.
  

NEVER CRINKLE YOUR POM POM STRANDS BY RUBBING YOUR HANDS TOGETHER.  THIS MAKES YOUR POMS LOOK OLDER THAN THEY ARE.
